18Nov Flash Player 10 confirmed for Android (with video)
64,775 viewsWell, I predicted that Adobe would be eager to develop for the Android, and here it is: a working demo of Flash Player 10 running on the G1 being displayed today at a conference:
This is VERY exciting news! While Flash games may be slow because of the device, video streaming and Flash/Flex applications will be amazing to utilize for development. For myself, this means I can create simple Android apps to interact with the device features (like camera) and use Flash for the UI and logic since I know that language much more than Java currently.

November 30th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
Where is it?
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:13 pm
It is currently not available yet. Adobe has publicly displayed it, so the wait shouldn’t be too much longer for it. This is a great step towards full browsing on a mobile platform. Bravo, Adobe!

December 10th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
if u go onto the flash website and to the download page it automaticly finds the g1’s brower and u have to choose between tar.gz, rpm, YUM or deb
December 11th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
@oli: it doesn’t find the g1’s browser. The browsers it lists are “Firefox, Mozilla, SeaMonkey.” None of which are the same as the browser on the g1. Likewise, none of the installtion formats are compatible with the phone.
December 12th, 2008 at 12:51 am
Then which one do u pick?

For all the people who are blindly saying “where do I get it”. LEARN TO READ. This is a SHOWCASE DEMO not a downloadable working application.
January 4th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Ok ya we get it its a demo. But why can’t they tell us when flash will be released? When will it be released. All you ANDROID AND ADOBE techy guys working on this are just taunting us and its no fun.
January 5th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
For all of you that want a release date for the adobe flash player it will be given out when they are ready to actually run a good workin beta version adobes reputation will be on th line once this player is released and they will not release and unstable player that will couse them to get a bad rep for a mobile player and then have silverlight try to out perform them as for the video recorder there will be one coming to the market soon as well again no release date yet camline from what i been informed is struggalin with the software that the android g1 has as it was not actually intended for a video recorder but they are workin hard to make it happen with little or few bugs again these developers are tryin to give us a greate programs and will release when they are ready because they do not want to have negative comments about the programs they work so hard to put together so I ask for all to be patient and just except the fact that developin these programs is not as easy as it seems if it was why are ya here wining about it why don’t ya go and try to develope one yourself you can get permision from adobe to do so IF it is so easy to create a player

Still no news on a FLASH player for the G1. Based on the orginal article, I am surprized that it is taking so long between the Flash 10 for Android demo and its release.
February 2nd, 2009 at 6:27 am
Yes I agree with romito. If you don’t know how to script then don’t talk, because that takes time to work out all bugs. Also I THANK every programmer out there for making these apps. There are people out there that don’t respect some one else work. There’s a difference between constructive criticism and well… A F***** A**!!!

Everybody just keep checking when how and where adobe will release flash player
February 5th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
All the hype for the G1. Advertised in flash, I get the thing, no flash player? I’ve had the thing since October 08, still no flash player? I don’t know about you all. But the iphone is starting to look good.
February 6th, 2009 at 4:11 pm

February 16th, 2009 at 8:17 am
All i know is this is getting really stupid.. could you for real hurry it up. Wow. “Hey we will have it on this date” 2 months later, ” sorry guys we lied” hurry it up already!!!!!!!
February 20th, 2009 at 2:24 pm
As a beta tester, I understand the need for excesive testing before releases. Is there a way to get pre beta. Or beta versions for testing? I’m sure input is always needed , when programs are in this stage u have to hit the programining from all angles to cover your bases. An everyday user will get verry frustrated with common bugs like locking up, but when u understand that bugs are expected in beta your not going to get complaints just information on what problems the app has to hopefully get them fixed and have better software for eveyone , I think once available even in beta form there are plenty of tech savy people interested and willing to add there 2 cents and get the best software for full release.

Yeeeeesss I final got the flash player 10 on my G1. it is great now I can finaly watch all the porn in the world
February 25th, 2009 at 7:56 am
So is there any word, new word on when we might be getting our hands on the flash player? You can only use like 50% of the web without one. Soo why does every other touch screen phone have a flash player and the g1 dont?? Cuz i have seen other phones be able to do thing the g1 cant on the web cuz the g1 dont have a flash player. Sooo any new?
March 4th, 2009 at 8:39 am
This flash player issue is ridiculous! I love my G1 but planning on trashing it! No one has come up with a solution to solve this issue. Don’t think there will ever be a flash player for G1. Adobe has taken over
April 5th, 2009 at 8:02 pm
Were in april already and adobe still hasn’t release flash for the G1… I wonder how iphone users must feel when its been three years lol haha
April 16th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
You people are truly hilarious. First of all, the iPhone shouldn’t be looking any better than your G1’s… it doesn’t support Flash yet either. Oh, and that’s because Jobs doesn’t want developers creating apps in a format that can be run on the iPhone without necessitating it going through the apple apps store. Be patient, this stuff isn’t easy to develop. If you’re sOoOoOoOoooo desperate for a mobile device with flash then get a damn windows mobile device and make Bill Gates even richer. The G1 itself is a work in progress and will only get better… be patient (or at least STFU about it already, you whining, sniveling, little girls).
April 22nd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Were is it, when will it be here.
April 25th, 2009 at 8:19 pm

April 27th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
This is just crasy, slow down guys about this flash player thing or you will go crasy soon if r “nut” already. It’ll come so take easy the other existing apps.
May 8th, 2009 at 10:02 am
Does anyone know when flash player will be out for g1?
May 14th, 2009 at 12:53 pm
they are just hyping things up for us. I really believe that the adobe will not be available for the current G1 it will only be made available when a new G1 become available to help sale the newer phone.
May 18th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
people are wrong on the internet. why the hell would adobe wait in order to sell a google phone? it’s not the same company. these are different companies: it’s not some weird conspiracy, it’s just the time it takes to get shit done.
if you’re so pissed about it, why don’t you write your own flash plugin for the g1?
May 25th, 2009 at 3:45 am
Can anybody tell me if the flash player for the g1 is ready yet and if so how would I go about downloading it please go into detail thanks
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:42 am
From what I read, it’s not a downloadable thing, it will be built into the device. Only *new* G1 phones will have it. So you’ll have to buy a new phone. Nice.
July 16th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
bought a new one today…no flash.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:10 pm

I’m sure release date(s) would be posted on their official website. Obviously it’s not available still. I’m just trying to keep optimistic, it’s taking forever!
October 19th, 2009 at 7:15 am
ok the g1 is just a cut down vertion of the linux programs and to try to get flash player to work on it is almost imposabol but you can crack the bioes and install windows 2000 our xp home and run that with a flash player hope it works for you the way that it has for me

when, oh when? Please hurry, to be honest I laughed at my son when he got an Iphone and it did not have flash. I then got a G1 on week one release in the UK and to my horror it did not have flash either, I would never have bought it if I had known. How can there be a concept of a phone built so heavily toward web browsing and not have flash? Absolute madness…..Come Adobe, get it released, come on T-Mobile get an OAT update to us. Respect to this blog!

Dear Journal,
Hello again. It is December I can’t remember what day it is my memory has been fuzzy after that fateful day. I will never forget D Day. Demo day the day that started it all. Everyone was so… excited and month after month they left us biting our fingernails for the release date but it never came. We consumers began to get desperate searching every website for a real download and soon we were attacking each other for each other’s phones to see if it worked. Soon only a few people with g1s were alive. I don’t think I will make it through another month. Whoever finds this journal remember what I have said and be cautious with your new g1. Live On.
